- Liszt was a child prodigy, performing piano for many famous composers, including Beethoven. He was of the first musicians to present solo recitals.
- His compositions for piano are some of the most difficult ever to be written, as he imitated the virtuosic works of Violinist Niccolò Paganini.
- Liszt was deeply religious and nearly became a priest while in Rome!
