  • Queen Victoria and Mendelssohn were good friends. She even chose his ‘Wedding March’ for her daughter’s wedding.
  • His sister, Fanny Mendelssohn also composed music. It is believed that she may have even written some of Felix’s music.
  • Mendelssohn was one of the first to use a baton while conducting. He brought the idea to Great Britain, where he visited often.
