Fun Facts

  • To play the oboe, musicians blow through a ‘double reed.’ The reeds vibrate against each other and create sound!
  • Most orchestras use the oboe to tune the rest of the instruments before a performance.
  • The other common instrument in the oboe family is the English horn (larger).
